FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Hamilton Media Design announces Media Adventure Camp
Asheville-based multimedia design company Hamilton Media Design is thrilled to introduce its latest initiative: Media Adventure Camp.
The Hamilton Media Design team is gearing up to lead a camp-style workshop for young people, ages 11 and up. “We’ll have lots of fun while learning about the building blocks of multimedia production … Audio, video, and storytelling,” say organizers.
The inaugural camp takes place at LEAF’s Spring Retreat, on Saturday, May 15. The workshop, which will be held in the Barn and socially distanced, runs from 10 a.m.-noon.
The first half of the camp will focus on discussion about Audio capture and editing, Video capture and editing, and how to tell a great story starting with a storyboard and a shot list.
During the second half of the camp, the HMD team and campers will work together to capture audio and video of a live performance. “A LEAF musician will play a special concert just for us,” say organizers. “We’ll frame shots, set microphones, check audio levels, and make a short film.”
The HMD team will also document the campers in action as they learn, capture footage, and contribute to the storytelling process.
The theme for the first Media Adventure Camp is “Multimedia Foundations.” Future camps will explore field recording, interviews, script writing, editing, and much more. Join HMD on the tech playground
